Their struggles continue but the Brumbies have genuine belief they can end New Zealand's Super Rugby hoodoo over Australian teams when they host the powerful Crusaders.
It seems like an almost impossible task considering they were unable to get past the Jaguares in Canberra last Sunday and slumped to a 3-5 record.
But there have been encouraging signs amongst the wreckage heading into Saturday night's must-win match at GIO Stadium.
New Zealand teams have won the past 35 games against Australian opposition, dating back to May 2016.
The Crusaders are the most successful franchise in Super Rugby history and again on top of the New Zealand conference after clinching last year's title.
Even so, prop Mees Erasmus, who made his debut for the Brumbies off the bench against the Jaguares, has belief in an upset.
"New Zealand teams have had it over Australian teams but I've got a good feeling that it might change this week," Erasmus said.
"The boys are raring to go after the loss and we'll come back hard this week.
"They (Crusaders) might come to Canberra and feel the full wrath of the Brumbies."
The Brumbies sit third in the Australian conference behind the NSW Waratahs and Melbourne Rebels.
