The Brumbies remain determined to have their best team available for Sunday's Super Rugby match against the Sunwolves, despite the Wallabies asking them to withdraw three star players.
The ACT franchise is prepared to do everything it can to have David Pocock, Scott Sio and Allan Alaalatoa available for the game at GIO Stadium.
But Wallabies coach Michael Cheika isn't backing down from his request, insisting the national team needs to be put first.
The first Test against Ireland at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium is six days after the Brumbies take to the field.
Cheika believes the short turnaround will affect the Wallabies' preparation to play the Irish, ranked second in the world.
The Brumbies are desperate for the trio to play, mainly to boost slumping crowd figures in the nation's capital.
An email was sent to members last week, warning the club "may no longer exist" if attendances don't pick up.
It followed the Brumbies' second-worst crowd in their history when 5283 people turned up for an Australian derby against Melbourne.
The club had promised to donate $5000 each to three Canberra charities if they reached their targeted crowd of 15,000 - before the official request from Rugby Australia.
Cheika didn't believe the absence of three players would hinder those aspirations.
"I see they've had a bit of a call-to-arms with the crowd for this weekend's game," Cheika said.
"They're a good crowd down there in Canberra. They've always been very supportive of their team and I'm sure they'll be out there in force this weekend regardless of whether those three lads are playing or not."
The Brumbies will already be without lock Rory Arnold and promising young hooker Folau Fainga'a due to suspension.
Those two were also among eight players from the ACT club named in Cheika's 33-man Test squad.
The others are Tom Banks, Joe Powell and Tevita Kuridrani, but Cheika hasn't requested those three to be withdrawn.
The Brumbies are the only Australian team to be affected, with NSW Waratahs coach Daryl Gibson saying his side is fortunate to be playing on Saturday.
"I certainly empathise with both coaches in the situations they find themselves in," Gibson said on Thursday.
"It's a tough situation. We certainly haven't been asked to rest anyone."
