Brumbies coach Dan McKellar has changed his props as the Canberra-based franchise strives to boost their faint Super Rugby playoff prospects with a fourth straight win.

Victories over the Bulls, Sunwolves and Hurricanes have lifted the Brumbies to tenth on the overall log, six points behind the eighth-placed Rebels.

The Brumbies haven't won four in a row since 2016.

McKellar has made two changes for the Chiefs match, one of them forced, from the side that started against the Hurricanes in Canberra.

Props Nic Mayhew and Allan Alaalatoa have been restored to the side.

Alaalatoa has recovered from a knock sustained while on Wallabies duty during the June Test Series against Ireland.

Scott Sio is injured and veteran Ben Alexander drops back to the bench.

Mayhew played 65 minutes against the 'Canes after replacing Sio.

Alexander apart, McKellar has made another change to the bench, with Lachlan McCaffrey recovered from an injured back, recalled in place of Darcy Swain who signed a new contract with the club earlier this week.

Brumbies: Tom Banks, Henry Speight, Tevita Kuridrani, Kyle Godwin, Andrew Muirhead, Christian Lealiifano, Joe Powell, Isi Naisarani, David Pocock, Tom Cusack, Blake Enever, Rory Arnold, Allan Alaalatoa, Folau Faingaa, Nic Mayhew. Res: Connal McInerney, Ben Alexander, Leslie Leuluaialii-Makin, Richie Arnold, Lachlan McCaffrey, Matt Lucas, Wharenui Hawaera, Lausii Taliauli.
