BRUSSELS UNDER ATTACK:

- Attacks claimed by IS, warning of more

- 31 dead, more than 200 wounded

- two blasts at airport, third bomb not activated, defused by police

- blast on metro train at Maelbeek station

- three men captured on CCTV at airport, two killed in suicide bombings

- suicide bombers named as brothers Khalid and Brahim El Bakraoui

- third man Najim Laachraoui captured in Brussels suburb of Anderlecht

- first victim identified as Peruvian mother of two Adelma Tapia Ruiz, 37

- three days of mourning in Belgium

- memorial at Place de la Bourse in front of Brussels stock exchange

- minute's silence to be observed at noon local time (2200 AEDT)

- heightened security at all European airports

- Brussels public transport services back on line

- airport, metro still closed
