Bryant, James lead voting for All Stars

The big names in the NBA continue to poll well as the mid-season All Stars game rapidly approaches.

Retiring LA Lakers legend Kobe Bryant and the Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James continue to lead their respective conferences after the second returns of the 2016 NBA all-star voting were announced on Thursday.

Bryant, who plans to call it quits after his 20th season, tops all players with 1,262,118 votes for the league's mid-season showcase.

James, seeking his 12th all-star nod in 13 seasons, leads the Eastern Conference with 638,388 votes.

Bryant would be joined in the West frontcourt by Oklahoma City Thunder's Kevin Durant and Golden State Warriors' Draymond Green with 616,096 and 332,223 votes respectively.

League top scorer Stephen Curry of the Warriors with 925,780 votes - second behind Bryant - and the Thunder's Russell Westbrook with 479,512, would be paired in the West backcourt.

The Indiana Pacers' Paul George and Detroit Pistons' Andre Drummond with 457,554 votes and 261,158 respectively, would join James in the East frontcourt.

The Miami Heat's Dwyane Wade with 562,558 votes and Cavaliers' Kyrie Irving with 242,276 hold down the guard spots.

The 65th NBA All-Star Game will be played on February 14 in Toronto.
