Bucks lose without injured Dellavedova

Starting point guard Matthew Dellavedova has missed the first of two NBA games due to a hamstring injury as his side fell to Minnesota.

Missing Australia's Matthew Dellavedova due to injury, the Milwaukee Bucks have fallen 116-99 to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The starting NBA point guard is also expected to miss Sunday's game against Chicago due to a strained hamstring suffered in the win over Detroit two days ago.

Andrew Wiggins scored 31 points and Karl-Anthony Towns had 18 points and 16 rebounds to help the Timberwolves to victory on Friday.

Zach LaVine added 24 points and Shabazz Muhammad had 22 points in 18 minutes off the bench for the Wolves, who shot 55.8 per cent from the field and hit 13 of 25 three-pointers.

Giannis Antetokounmpo had 25 points, seven rebounds and five assists for the Bucks.

Meanwhile, Paul George scored 32 points to help the Indiana Pacers snap a four-game NBA losing streak with a 111-101 victory over the Chicago Bulls.

"We have a great time in the locker room," George said.

"I was questioning my team to show that on the court."

In other action, behind a season-high 27 points from Trey Burke off the bench and another double-double from John Wall, the Washington Wizards beat the Brooklyn Nets 118-95 to win their third consecutive game and reach .500 for the first time this season.

While Isaiah Thomas scored 29 of his career-high 52 points in the fourth quarter, setting a club record for points in a period and leading Boston to a 117-114 victory over the Miami Heat.

In New Orleans, Anthony Davis had 23 points and 18 rebounds, and the the Pelicans won their fourth straight game, 104-92 over the New York Knicks.

Carmelo Anthony had 26 points and 13 rebounds, but couldn't prevent the Knicks from dropping their third straight.

In Houston, James Harden had a triple-double with 30 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists and the Rockets rolled to a 140-116 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.

It's the seventh triple-double this season for Harden and his third straight 30-point game.

Elsewhere, Klay Thompson scored 17 of his game-high 29 points in the third quarter, propelling the Golden State Warriors to victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

Tony Parker and Danny Green scored 18 points apiece and San Antonio had five players in double figures as it roared from behind to beat Portland 110-94.

Australia's Patty Mills contributed six points for the Spurs.

Joel Embiid scored 23 points and Ersan Ilyasova had 23 points and 13 rebounds as the Philadelphia 76ers scored a narrow 124-122 win over the Denver Nuggets.
