Malcolm Turnbull has warned the May 3 budget won't please everyone as it focuses on supporting enterprise, investment and jobs.

"We've got to get the budget back into balance," the prime minister told a small business roadshow in his own electorate of Wentworth on Friday in answer to a question about the high rate company tax when compared to the UK.

"So it won't be to everybody's satisfaction, naturally, because it's a balancing exercise."
