The federal budget is set to include funding to help women get back to work and build their economic security.

But the details won't be fully known until later in the year.

Financial Services Minister Kelly O'Dwyer will make an economic security statement in the September sittings of parliament.

"There's going to be a lot in the budget already and there's going to be a lot that millions of Australian women will be able to focus on tomorrow night," she told ABC radio on Monday.

The new measures will build on the $100 million women's package to tackle family violence announced in 2015 by Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, and 2016 changes to help women catch up on superannuation.
