Bulldogs could regain key AFL pair

Jake Stringer and Luke Dahlhaus could return for the Western Bulldogs' big AFL match against Geelong.

The Western Bulldogs finally have some good news after a tough few days for the AFL club.

Star forwards Jake Stringer and Luke Dahlhaus could return from injury for the Friday night blockbuster against Geelong.

Stringer missed Saturday night's upset loss to St Kilda with a shoulder problem, while a leg injury has sidelined Dahlhaus since the round-12 win over Port Adelaide.

Toby McLean is also on the verge of returning from an ankle injury.

The St Kilda loss was a particularly bad night for the Bulldogs, with Mitch Wallis breaking his leg in an horrific incident.

Jack Redpath's season is also over because of a knee reconstruction.

And it emerged on Monday that chief executive David Stevenson had resigned suddenly after less than a year in the position, with board member Gary Kent to take his place.

But regaining Stringer and Dahlhaus in particular would be a major boost for the 'Dogs, who dropped out of the top four with the St Kilda loss.

"Jake has come in to the club really well and he'll be involved in full training this week with a view to playing this weekend," football manager Graham Lowe told the club website.

"Its really pleasing after such a difficult weekend to have some good news around Luke Dahlhaus and Toby McLean.

The Bulldogs are also hopeful that veteran defender Dale Morris will be available for the Cats game after he sat out the second half against St Kilda with hamstring tightness.
