Bulldogs drop Cloke, Saints lose Riewoldt

The Western Bulldogs have regained Jake Stringer from injury and dropped Travis Cloke ahead of Saturday's AFL clash with St Kilda.

The Saints suffered a blow, losing former skipper Nick Riewoldt to a knee injury, while Luke Dunstan was dropped, with Shane Savage and Darren Minchington called up for the Etihad Stadium match.

Stringer has recovered from a knee injury and returns with defender Shane Biggs and ruckman Tim English who will make his AFL debut.

In other significant selection news for round 10, Gold Coast superstar Gary Ablett is out with a sore shoulder, Fremantle big man Aaron Sandilands has succumbed to a hamstring injury and Adelaide have recalled key forward Josh Jenkins.

Hawthorn coach Alastair Clarkson made three unforced changes for Friday night's clash with Sydney at the SCG.

Dallas Willsmore and James Cousins will play their first AFL games, with Kaiden Brand also coming in at the expense of Will Langford, Kurt Heatherley and Billy Hartung.

The Swans recalled Oliver Florent to replace Harry Cunningham due to a foot injury.

Richmond made two changes for the Dreamtime at the 'G match against Essendon, Josh Caddy returning from injury and Todd Elton in for axed pair Ivan Soldo and Anthony Miles.

The Bombers replaced ill ruckman Matthew Leuenberger with Tom Bellchambers.

The Suns take on Melbourne on Saturday in Alice Springs, with Pearce Hanley in for his first game since round one after compassionate leave due to the death of his brother.

David Swallow returns and Will Brodie will debut, while the Demons have brought in Jake Melksham, Alex Neal-Bullen and James Harmes.

The Crows, who host the Dockers on Saturday night at Adelaide Oval, have also recalled veteran David Mackay.

Former Adelaide ruckman Jon Griffin is in to face his old side, with Darcy Tucker included as well.

In Sunday's early game, Collingwood have named Matt Scharenberg in their starting 18 to face Brisbane at the MCG.

Scharenberg is in line to play his first game since round 23, 2015, after recovering from a second knee reconstruction.

Mason Cox, Tim Broomhead, Jackson Ramsay and Ben Crocker were also added to a 25-man squad.

The last-placed Lions added seven players, including Ryan Bastinac and Rohan Bewick, to their squad.

Drew Petrie, Eric Mackenzie and Lewis Jetta are among eight additions to West Coast's squad to take on Greater Western Sydney at Domain Stadium.

Coach Adam Simpson promised changes after last week's thrashing by Essendon, with Jack Redden, Fraser McInnes, Kurt Mutimer and Tom Barrass all dropped.

Steve Johnson (knee) and Rory Lobb (groin) are out for the Giants, with former Geelong ruckman Dawson Simpson among the inclusions.

Carlton have lost Sam Rowe (knee) and Dale Thomas (concussion) for their clash with North Melbourne, with the Roos adding Jed Anderson, Trent Dumont and Braydon Preuss to an extended squad.
