Canterbury will investigate allegations Josh Reynolds verbally abused a security guard and failed to leave a licensed premises during an alcohol-fuelled Friday night in Cronulla.
One day after the Bulldogs' NRL loss to Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium, Reynolds is alleged to have been kicked out of Northies Cronulla Hotel for being too intoxicated.
The Bulldogs informed the NRL of the situation on Monday.
"There have been allegations of an incident involving Josh Reynolds at the weekend. At this stage the club are investigating the details of these allegations," the club said in a statement.
"The club have informed the Integrity Unit and will be offering no more comment at this stage."
It is believed Reynolds lashed out at a female security manager, with the incident coming on the same weekend the NRL celebrated Women in League round.
"She asked him to leave, he started swearing and carrying on and saying 'You just want to f--- me'," a witness told Fairfax Media.
"She asked him again and he was saying, 'Who the f--- are you?' Then a security guy went in and (Reynolds) told him the same. Then another guard had a go too."
Police told AAP its investigation was still ongoing and that Reynolds could be issued with an infringement notice for failing to move on from the licensed premises.
"It will be alleged a 28-year-old man was asked to leave the venue due to his level of intoxication," a police statement said.
"After a verbal altercation with security, the man left the scene."
Currently in his seventh season with the Bulldogs since debuting in 2011, Reynolds will join the Wests Tigers next season on a four-year deal worth a reported $3 million.
Meanwhile, Bulldogs coach Des Hasler will front the club's board on Tuesday to discuss the team's struggles this season.
Their loss to the Broncos was their seventh in nine games, leaving them six points out of the top eight with just six games to go in their season.
After surviving the axe last year, Hasler in April re-signed with the club for another two seasons but is believed to be again under pressure to keep his job next year.
