Lin Jong's wretched luck with injury has struck again and the Western Bulldogs onballer is now out of action for two months.

The midfielder suffered a serious hamstring tear at Thursday training and the Bulldogs expect him to be sidelined for eight to 10 weeks.

The 25-year-old has only managed 61 games since his 2012 debut, never playing more than 16 in a season.

He was denied a possible berth in the Bulldogs' drought-breaking 2016 premiership team when he suffered a broken collarbone in their elimination final win.

Jong also needed a knee reconstruction two years ago and needed surgery again last year for another broken collarbone.
