Bulls batsman hoping surgery can wait

Chris Lynn could be set for season-ending surgery on his dislocated shoulder but the Queensland batsman is hoping for better news from doctors.

Queensland Bulls batsman Chris Lynn is hopeful season-ending surgery on his injured shoulder won't be necessary.

Lynn will visit doctors on Thursday afternoon for an assessment on his shoulder, which he dislocated towards the end of an intense fielding session at training two weeks ago - just four days after he was confirmed as Queensland's stand-in Sheffield Shield captain.

The 26-year-old has a tear in his labrum, which usually requires surgery to fix, but is crossing his fingers for better news and is prepared to play through pain.

"There's every chance (I'll require surgery)," Lynn said.

"I'm going to miss the rest of the season whenever I get it done.

"I'm better off holding off, I believe, and try and play as much cricket as I can and actually give it a crack."
