Queensland boast a hefty 335-run lead at the midway point of their crucial Sheffield Shield match against Tasmania at the Gabba.

The home side dominated day two to reach 6-195 at the close in what has been a relatively low-scoring contest.

Medium-pacer Luke Feldman was once again the unlikely star for Queensland, returning career-best figures of 6-32 with the Dukes ball as Tasmania were skittled for just 115.

It followed day one which saw No.11 Feldman thrash a crucial quickfire 47 for his highest first class score in 50 matches.

The Tigers resumed on Friday at 2-60 but were all out by lunch, having survived just 34 overs in total.

Captain George Bailey (25) and allrounder Simon Milenko (21) were the only two batsman to pass 20 as the visitors conceded a 140-run first innings' deficit.

Queensland slipped to 3-74 in reply but middle order batsman Charlie Hemphrey (52) took the game almost out of the Tigers' reach with just the second half century of the match.

It was another unhappy day for Jackson Bird ahead of the upcoming Test tour of South Africa with the fast bowler returning 1-41 following a wicketless first innings.

Victory for the second-placed Queensland could see them leap to the top of the Shield standings should NSW lose in Western Australia.
