The Queensland Bulls will take a Sheffield Shield match to Mackay for the first time when they face NSW later this year.
The match, to take place from December 6-9 at Harrup Park, comes more than a decade after the last first-class game was held in Mackay between Queensland and a touring Sri Lanka side.
The Queensland Academy of Sport will also take on Tasmania in a Toyota Futures League game in Mackay from October 19-22.
"Regional Queensland has long been a breeding ground for players representing their state and country and it is great that we can help recognise their contribution by bringing two quality games to Mackay," Queensland Cricket chief executive Geoff Cockerill said.
