South Korean Government figures show the incidents of school violence are starting to fall, but there is still a high number of teenagers taking their own lives. In 2010, more than 350 teenagers committed suicide – almost one every day.

The increase in teenage suicides has alerted the highest levels of government, but as CNN's Paula Hancocks reports current government and school bullying measures appear to have had very little effect.

School counsellor, Kim Ui-Khon says teenagers who feel suicidal have already experienced a lot of pain. He says the key to 'saving' teenagers from reaching this stage is early intervention and encouraging more team sports, rather than just celebrating individual academic success.
