India recorded a breakthrough Test series win in front of mostly empty stands at a sodden SCG on Monday, now they return to the venue with a near-capacity crowd packed with fans keen to bask in the sunshine and success.
The iconic Sydney venue was a sea of blue for a Twenty20 between Australia and India that preceded the four-Test series.
India's supporters are expected to turn out in force again on Saturday, when a three-match ODI series begins in Sydney.
"I hear it is going to be 40,000," India captain Virat Kohli told reporters.
"The last time I experienced that here was the World Cup game against Australia. It's an electrifying atmosphere to play in. It's amazing.

"With the whole stadium buzzing and the crowd behind you, when you are in a tight situation that gives you motivation to push yourself and do something special for your country.
"Both sides get a lot of support here and tomorrow is going to be very exciting."
The series is likely to double as MS Dhoni's farewell tour of Australia, with the 37-year-old former captain expected to retire from international cricket long before India return for their next ODI tour.
Kohli admitted it took a bit of time for the full extent of his side's 2-1 Test series win over Australia, which ended a barren streak dating back to 1948, to sink in.
"It didn't hit us that hard that night," the skipper said.
"It was just beautiful to recognise those important moments through the series ... it was a beautiful thing to experience, to speak about and share as a team.
"To share it with the guys, just to see happy faces was a great feeling."
Australia will be without Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins throughout the ODI series.
Kohli, keen to keep his foot on the throat, suggested there was no chance of the visitors taking Australia's weakened attack lightly.
"It makes sense (to rest them) and the guys coming in will be excited to play," Kohli said.
"All of them are talented.
"In Australia, you don't take anything for granted."
