New NRL boss Todd Greenberg has hailed rugby league's bunker as a revelation, despite the central command centre copping plenty of Easter weekend criticism.
After enjoying a relatively untroubled introduction to the 2016 season over the opening three rounds, cracks began to show in the bunker over in round four as referees boss Tony Archer admitted to its failings.
However Greenberg said the bunker has transformed rugby league for the better over the first month of the season.
"I think the bunker has been a revelation and I am absolutely delighted about how it has started the season," Greenberg told AAP.
"It has been outstanding on a couple of levels, but my primary delight with it, is that it gives the fans insight into how decisions are made and they are on the inside of that process.

"So the transparency for me has been a wonderful change to the game and I think the fans have really enjoyed it."
Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan and his Sydney Roosters counterpart Trent Robinson both took aim at the bunker over contentious decisions, while Archer admitted his officials made the wrong decision in turning down a Matt Gillett try in Brisbane's win over North Queensland.
"There are always going to be decisions in games that are going to be tight, and some people are going to think one thing and some people are going to think others, that is the beauty of world sport," Greenberg said.
Sharks skipper Paul Gallen joined Greenberg in championing the new system, but admitted there was still room for improvement.
"I think the bunker has been really good to start with," Gallen said.
"The last couple of weeks has shown with everything there is flaws when there is still humans involved and interpretations and opinions involved.
"The next thing they need is for it to be able to rule on forward passes."
