South Sydney have locked down rookie halfback Adam Doueihi until the end of the 2021 NRL season, rewarding him with a three-year contract extension.

The Rabbitohs warded off a rumoured monster deal from Canberra to retain the highly-rated 19-year-old on Friday.

Doueihi, who was off contract at the end of 2018, says he didn't want to play at any other club and was excited to continue learning under coach Anthony Seibold.

"Playing in the NRL has always been a dream of mine, so to do so in the red and green jersey is a dream come true," Doueihi said.

The former Australian schoolboys union star, who has been capped by Lebanon five times, has made a stellar start to his NRL career.

Doueihi has already played four games and scored 18 points from nine goals after making his debut in round two against the Penrith Panthers.
