South Sydney prop Tom Burgess has continued his push to play in the NFL, reportedly trialling with the Seattle Seahawks.
USA Today NFL writer Tom Pelissero said on twitter that the English prop trailed with the 2013 Super Bowl winners on Thursday (US time).
"Heard this: Rugby player Tom Burgess is working out for #Seahawks today," Pelissero said.
The Rabbitohs have described Burgess' trip to the US as a fact-finding mission and played down the possibility of losing him before his contract expires at the end of the 2018 season.
After working out with the New York Giants and Buffalo Bills last week, he has also spent time with the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Burgess has reportedly been trying out as a tight end. At 196cm and 120kg, he is seen as having a similar build to New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski.
While Burgess is highly unlikely to be signed by an NFL franchise this season, he is a candidate to be picked up under a futures contract early next year once the regular season has concluded.
Burgess is blessed with size and speed off the mark, however his unfamiliarity with the game and inexperience catching the ball are seen as obstacles.
South Sydney back-rower John Sutton said he feared the club losing Burgess but not for "a couple more years".
"But it's good to see him trying his hand at the NFL and having a go and he seems to be enjoying it, which is good."
