A bushfire is burning in inaccessible country north of Toowoomba in southern Queensland.

The Queensland Fire Service says the blaze near Happy Valley Road, Cabarlah poses no threat to property at the moment.

"Residents are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by," the fire service said in statement.
