Bushfire contained on Kangaroo Island

South Australia's Country Fire Services says the threat from a bushfire on Kangaroo Island has reduced.

A bushfire that was burning out of control on the southern coast of South Australia's Kangaroo Island has been contained.

The Country Fire Service issued an advice message on Monday night saying the threat to people and property at Seal Bay had reduced.

But there may be risks from smoke in the area reducing visibility and from falling trees.
