Bushfire downgraded in WA's Pilbara region

A bushfire in WA's Pilbara region is no longer threatening people and property around the Tom Price township, authorities say.

Lives and properties are no longer under threat from an out-of-control bushfire in Western Australia's Pilbara Region, authorities say.

A watch and act for people in the mining township of Tom Price as well as the mine site and industrial area has been downgraded to advice, EmergencyWA says.

The fire continues to burn along Nameless Valley Drive, east of the township, in an inaccessible area.

Authorities have told residents to close all doors and windows, turn off air conditioners and keep their water running.

"Although there is no immediate danger you need to be aware and keep up to date in case the situation changes."
