Bushfire rages near WA's south coast

Lives and property are under possible threat from an out of control bushfire near Alexander Bay

A bushfire is raging out of control in Western Australia's Goldfields-Esperance region.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services says there is a possible threat to lives and property in Alexander Bay where a watch and act message has been issued.

Conditions are changing, and residents are warned to leave now or prepare to actively defend their properties from the fire, which is reportedly slowly moving east but is unpredictable.
