The fire danger season will start early in seven South Australian districts because of dry conditions.
The Country Fire Service says the season will kick off on October 22 in the Flinders, northeast and northwest pastoral regions, one week earlier than usual.
It will also begin on November 1 in the Murraylands, the mid-north, in the Riverland and on York Peninsula, which is two weeks early.
A decision is yet to be made on when the season will be declared for the Mt Lofty Ranges, the Adelaide metropolitan area, and in the southeast.
Acting director of preparedness operations Brett Loughlin said a dry winter and increased temperatures for spring had brought the fire season forward in some zones.

"Despite some areas in the state experiencing a drought, recent fires have shown us that they can still move quickly despite a reduction in fuel to burn," Mr Loughlin said.
