Bushfire threat downgraded in WA's north

A bushfire that was sparked in the Northern Territory and spread over the border to Western Australia has been downgraded to an advice alert.

A bushfire in Western Australia's far north that started in the Northern Territory has been downgraded to an advice alert.

The blaze was sparked in the Keep River National Park on Sunday evening, then spread across the border into the Shire of Wyndham-East Kimberley.

At one point the blaze prompted an emergency warning, but now the WA Department of Fire and Emergency Services has issued an advice alert for north of Kununurra and part of Victoria Highway.

Both blazes are contained but not controlled.

While there is no threat to lives or homes, there is a lot of smoke in the area.

The fire has so far burnt about 95,000 hectares.
