Bushfire threat east of Perth

An emergency warning has been issued for a fast-moving bushfire east of Perth, with residents warned burning embers are likely to be blown around homes.

Lives and homes are in danger from a fast-moving and out-of-control bushfire east of Perth.

An emergency warning has been issued for parts of The Lakes, Beechina, Copley, Woottating and Wooroloo in the Shires of Mundaring and Northam.

"You are in danger and need to act immediately to survive," the Department of Fire and Emergency Services warns.

Burning embers are likely to be blown around homes.

Motorists have been asked to avoid the area but roads have not been closed.
