Bushfire threat north-east of Perth

An emergency warning is in place for a bushfire north-east of Perth, which is threatening homes, while a watch and act alert has been issued in WA's south.

A bushfire north-east of Perth that has been threatening lives and homes is now under control but not contained.

An emergency warning remains in place for Shady Hills Estate in Bullsbrook, north-western parts of Gidgegannup and north-eastern parts of the Walyunga National Park in the City of Swan.

"You are in danger and need to act immediately to survive," the West Australia Department of Fire and Emergency Services said on Tuesday.

"Winds in the area are expected to reach 80km/h, which can cause embers to travel well ahead of the fire front."

Meanwhile, a watch and act alert is in place for south-eastern parts of Bullsbrook and north-western parts of Walyunga National Park.

Some roads and the national park have been closed.

About 100 firefighters are battling the slow-moving blaze, which has burnt 90 hectares.

A temporary evacuation centre has been set up at the Beechboro Community Hub.

Horses can be taken to the State Equestrian Centre Pony Club.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

In a separate blaze, a watch and act alert has been issued for parts of Australind in the Shire of Harvey, in WA's South West region.
