Residents have been warned to leave as a bushfires bears down on homes north of Gympie in Queensland's southeast.

A large bushfire is threatening homes in Queensland's southeast with residents told to be ready to leave.

The fire is burning in North Deep Creek, 15km north of Gympie.

Thirteen crews are battling the blaze, which is travelling in a north-easterly direction, the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said on Monday.
