Bushfire threatens properties in Qld

Residents have been warned to leave now as a fire threatens properties in the Wide Bay Burnett region of Queensland.

A raging bushfire is threatening properties in Queensland's Wide Bay Burnett region.

The large fire was burning in bushland north of Woodgate and south of Bundaberg at 1500 (AEST) on Tuesday.

Residents have been warned to leave now, head west towards Goodwood and open their paddock gates to give livestock a chance to escape.

The fire is travelling south towards the Isis River and has forced the closure of Woodgate Road, but homes in Woodgate are not under threat.

Fire crews are working to contain the fire but warn power, water, and mobile phone service may be lost.
