VICTORIA
The CFA issued an emergency warning at 7.30am this morning for the holiday resort town of Glenmaggie in the Baw Baw Ranges, as a fire front is expected to impact Seaton, Dawson, Heyfield, Toongabbie, Cowwar, Lake Glenmaggie and all adjoining bush areas immediately.
The fire quadrupled in size overnight as a five kilometre fire front heads towards towns, fanned by a overnight wind change, pushing the fire south and east back onto firefighters.
About five houses have been reportedly desttoyed.
Forty locals have gathered at the Heyfield pub in Victoria's east as word trickles through that bushfires sweeping through the area may have claimed several homes.

Publican Jeremiah Wallace at the Heyfield Commercial Hotel says they've heard Lake Glenmaggie is burning and houses have been lost at Seaton.
Mr Wallace says if the wind changes to the southwest as expected this morning it will push the fire from Seaton to Heyfield.
Meanwhile a bushfire which started in Aberfeldy yesterday now covers 8,500 hectares.
Another emergency warning was issued early this morning for Lincola near Aberfeldy.
A large, fast moving bushfire in the Licola area, travelling towards the Licola Road.
