The aid organisation, World Vision, is calling on this week's Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting to agree to fight world hunger by working with small farmers.
In a policy report launched in Perth, it says Australian farming technology could be one key to any Commonwealth response to the global food crisis that affects almost one billion people.
World Vision chief executive Tim Costello told Phillippa Carisbrooke innovative technologies developed for Australian farmers working in arid areas could be modified for smaller farms overseas.
