New British Prime Minister David Cameron did a double-take the morning after he took office, when he heard himself referred to by his new title on the radio, he said Friday.
Waking up in his west London home on Wednesday, he momentarily forgot about the previous evening, when he was appointed by Queen Elizabeth II to succeed Gordon Brown, following knife-edge elections.
"I had a wonderful moment .. when the radio went off as I was just waking up in my own bed at home," he told the Sun newspaper.

"I heard, 'This morning, the prime minister will...' and I thought, 'Oh God, what's he doing now?'," referring to Brown, whom Cameron has long battled to oust from Downing Street.
"And then I thought, 'Oh no, hang on a second -- it's me!' It was a sort of double take. You're so used to waking up hearing what the prime minister is up to that I had a brief relapse."
Cameron put the finishing touches Friday to his new government, a coalition between his Conservative Party and the third-placed Liberal Democrats, following elections last week.
The government, including Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg as Cameron's deputy premier, is Britain's first such power-sharing administration since World War II.
