Cate Campbell has clearly shrugged off the difficulties and disappointments of 2015.
The 2008 Olympic bronze medallist started last year on light workloads while recovering from a shoulder injury.
And while she impressed in the heats at the World Championships in Kazan, she couldn't carry her performances into the finals and left without a gold medal around her neck.
For the first time too, younger sister Bronte, 21, showed Cate up, claiming two gold medals, in the 50m and 100m freestyle events.
But Cate, still only 23, showed at the Perth Aquatic Super Series this weekend that she is on track for a strong showing at April's Olympic trials in Adelaide.
She acknowledged that being able to work harder during this summer has made a massive difference.
"I'm putting in a lot more work now than I was last year, because I couldn't handle the work last year," she said.
"I'm not as fresh as I was, but, in saying that, I feel stronger, I feel fitter, I feel healthier."
Cate beat Bronte in the 50m freestyle in Perth on Friday and then in the 100m on Saturday.
The sisters still finished first and second in the event that pits Australia's Dolphins against the China and Japan teams.
It does need to be recognised that Bronte is currently battling an injury of her own (hip).
Cate said it was good to swim a stronger race on the second day, after being a bit disappointed with Friday's time.
"I was happy with my time (tonight). It was a little bit slow yesterday, so not really feeling the spark," she said on Saturday.
"Everything from World's last year has all been leading up to April and then hopefully on to Rio, so this is a great stepping stone.
"It gives you some really good race practise for early in the year."
