A camper trailer lost in a hole that opened up at a Queensland camping spot has been successfully recovered.
About 300 campers were evacuated from Inskip Point near Rainbow Beach on Saturday night after the "near shore landslide event" claimed a caravan, a car, a trailer and tents.
Specialist staff were able on Tuesday afternoon to pluck the camper trailer out at low tide, the Department of National Parks, Sports and Racing said.
Weather permitting, the team will turn its attention on Wednesday morning to the four-wheel drive - which had completely vanished into the murky hole - and the partially visible caravan.
The cavity continues to erode the shoreline and a further one metre of bank was lost overnight.
The erosion is expected to continue for weeks.
The "sinkhole" was about 208 metres long, 50 metres wide and nine metres at its deepest point on Tuesday.
Geotechnical experts say it is not a "true" sinkhole but rather a landslide along the peninsula.
Surrounding camping grounds remain partially closed.
