Victorian Premier John Brumby plans to meet cricket legend Shane Warne today to discuss how to improve Australia's image in India after tensions over attacks on Indian students and claims of racism.
It's understood the possible measures to improve ties include a friendship cricket game.
Today's meeting comes as Indian high commissioner Sujatha Singh returns to New Delhi to update her government on the Australian government's plans to ensure the safety of Indian students.
Mr Brumby says he also wants to see her to assure India his government is doing all it can to stop the attacks.
