Canadian athletes will only go to New Delhi for the Commonwealth Games when concerns over the athletes' village cleanliness and safety are addressed, a Canadian sports official said Friday.
"We will come when it's acceptable," Canadian team attache Yan Huckendbuler told AFP.
The Canadian women's field hockey team, totalling about 20 players and coaches, as well as Team Canada's administrative staff have delayed a Friday evening departure for New Delhi.

If conditions in New Delhi improve, they may leave on Sunday or Monday, Huckendubler said.
He noted "spectacular progress" on the ground to clean up the athletes' village. Problems persist with washrooms, for example, such as non-functioning plumbing, garbage and high humidity in the residences, he said.
Some nations, notably England and Scotland, have reserved decisions about going, while several top athletes, including two Canadian archers, have already announced they will not participate in the games after the collapse of a stadium roof.
