Brooke Henderson, touted as world No.1 golfer in-waiting, was woken by her alarm at 4.50am.

The Canadian went to Royal Adelaide for Saturday's third round of the Australian open where she teed off - alone, at 7.20am.

A fixturing quirk meant Henderson, the world No.8 and one of golf's rising sensations, played her third round without a partner.

"It was actually fun. I had never done that before," the 19-year-old said after carding an even-par round.

"I was so shocked last night (when I saw the draw) but I played really fast, just over three hours.

"It took a little while to get the rhythm right because you're normally waiting for other players."

Henderson, who remains even-par overall, was surprised to be tracked around the course by some early-morning fans.

"That was amazing, I did not expect that at all, so early and by myself," she said.

"It was really cool and I really appreciate it all."
