Canberra have re-signed fiery forward Corey Horsburgh until the 2022 season following a stellar start to his NRL career.

Horsburgh debuted for the Raiders in round one and has been impressive in 10 appearances, missing only three games due to a fractured elbow in round four.

The 21-year-old has won praise this season for taking on some of the competition's biggest enforces, including South Sydney's Sam Burgess and North Queensland's Jason Taumalolo.

"I was just hoping to play some good footy this year and hopefully debut around this time so to get it round one and to have already re-signed is a very proud moment," Horsburgh said.

"I felt like I was starting to get the pace of the game and really find my feet, then the elbow injury set me back a little bit, but a few more games and hopefully I can keep building.

"I'm starting to feel comfortable again so hopefully I can stay in the starting side."

Canberra face St George Illawarra in Wollongong on Sunday.
