Olympic silver medallist Jessica Fox has bounced back from a disappointing result in the K1 to lead the local women to a C1 trifecta at the Australian Canoe Slalom Championships in Penrith.
Fox recorded a time of 109.27 on Sunday to finish 1.93 seconds ahead of Rosalyn Lawrence, with Alison Borrows completing the Australian trifecta in 116.03 at the Olympic qualifying event, the first in a best-of-three process to select the team for Rio.
Fox, who won silver at the 2012 London Games, was pleased with the way she paddled, with her C1 time in the final faster than Saturday's K1 run.
"Yesterday didn't go to plan as I didn't make the final and I was really looking to do that so today I wanted to paddle freely and put down runs that I was capable of," Fox said.
Since winning her first C1 World Championship in 2013, the margins have become a lot tighter and Fox had to produce a fast run to beat the time set by Lawrence.

The reigning world champion turns her attention to the K1 and preparing for the final selection event, the Oceania Championships, from February 19-21 in Penrith.
In other action, Czech paddler Vit Prindis won his first Australian K1 title, producing a fast run in the final with the 26-year-old recording the only sub-90-second time of 89.65 to finish 0.44 seconds ahead of London Olympic champion Daniele Molmenti with Peter Kauzer of Slovenia taking third.
Lucien Delfour leads the K1 men's chase for Australian Olympic team selection after finishing sixth to be best-placed local behind Prindis but admits he'll have to take more risks in his approach to the second and third selection trials at the Oceania Championships.
"I think it is going to be a little bit different because the heats will count this time and, because we have two runs, I think the athletes will have to attack a bit more," Delfour said.
