Canterbury have signed Australian swing bowler Ben Hilfenhaus for the first half of this season's Twenty20 domestic competition in New Zealand.
The 33-year-old right-armer will play Canterbury's first six T20 matches before Christmas.
Canterbury have also secured the services of Australian allrounder Shane Watson for Sunday's opening match against Central Districts in New Plymouth.
Hilfenhaus will make his Canterbury debut at Hagley Oval on Friday in a pre-season match against Watson's Sydney Thunder, the Australian Big Bash League defending champions.
Tasmanian Hilfenhaus took 99 Test wickets in 27 Tests for Australia, also playing 25 ODIs and seven T20 internationals between 2007-12.
