A car believed linked to the death of a security guard in a central Sydney robbery, has been found.
The burnt out silver Audi was located late on Wednesday when police and fire officers responded to reports of a blaze off Henry Lawson Drive at Milperra, in the western suburbs.
Strike Force Lorimer detectives believe the vehicle may be the one involved in the shooting of Gary Allibon during an armed robbery on Monday.
Mr Allibon, a 59-year-old Chubb guard, was shot in the chest by one of four armed robbers during the early morning raid on a cash van. He and two colleagues were delivering cash to a commercial complex, Darling Park, in Sussex Street.
Police appeal for anyone who saw a silver S8 model high-performance Audi sedan in Milperra or surrounding areas, between 11pm on Wednesday and 12.30am on Thursday, to contact them. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
