A car thief has been jailed after he drove a stolen Mercedes car though a rail crossing barrier seconds before a train passed through.
BBC Online reports that in March 2010, Terence Fowler hit 145km/hr and ploughed through train barriers in Cambridgeshire in England to evade police officers.
Police said Fowler, aged 20, showed a "total disregard" for the public and put "lives at risk."

"During the pursuit, Fowler drove on the wrong side of the road, overtook vehicles on roundabouts and knocked off another vehicle's wing mirror," said a police spokesman on BBC Online.
"Police abandoned the pursuit because it was too dangerous and could only watch as he ploughed through a closed level crossing at King's Dyke with a Cross Country train just seconds away."
Peterborough Crown Court has sentenced Fowler to three-and-a-half years jail.
