Carlton have nabbed high-flying AFLW forward Tayla Harris from Brisbane in a complex trade involving several clubs.

The Blues traded three players - Bella Ayres and Nat Exon to Brisbane, and Bianca Jakobsson to Melbourne - as part of the deal, while also receiving a future draft pick from the Western Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs gained Melbourne's Deanna Berry in exchange.

A marquee player for the Lions, Harris led the competition for contested marks in the inaugural AFLW season.

"It's a real endorsement for our club to have a player of the calibre of Tayla wanting to be a part of our journey," Carlton coach Damien Keeping said on Thursday.
