Catalans' Aiton suffers pec muscle tear

Ex-NRL hooker Paul Aiton has suffered a torn pectoral muscle and will miss six weeks for French club Catalans Dragons.

Former Penrith and Cronulla hooker Paul Aiton will be out for six weeks with a torn pectoral muscle, his Super League club Catalans Dragons have announced.

The Papua New Guinea international, who missed the last nine matches of Leeds' treble-winning season in 2015 with a broken arm, sustained his latest injury just 11 minutes into his Catalans debut at Wigan on Friday.

The Dragons say the player underwent scans on Monday morning to determine the extent of the injury.
