Cathy Freeman visits primary school

Cathy Freeman and paralympians Grace Bowman and Hannah Dodd have visited a Melbourne primary school, helping students pen letters of encouragement to Aussie Olympic hopefuls.

It's twelve years since Cathy Freeman's Olympic exploits captured Australia's attention, and for ninety per cent of Melbourne primary students, her star certainly hasn't faded.

Freeman was joined at the school by paralympians Grace Bowman and Hannah Dodd.

The trio helped the students pen letters of encouragement to our Olympic hopefuls, but the youngsters needed little assistance with their messages.

And the day also provided an opportunity to learn about the diversity of Australia's Paralympians, and on the different types of disabilities, such as severe cerebral palsy.
