Highly respected AFL administrator Brian Cook will continue as chief executive at Geelong until at least the end of 2020.
In 2019, Cook - the CEO at West Coast before joining the Cats in 1999, will become the first person in VFL/AFL history to serve as a chief executive/secretary for 30 years.
Under his guidance, Geelong have become an AFL powerhouse on and off the field.
They have won three premierships (2007, 2009 and 2011) and made the finals in 12 of the past 14 seasons.
The club's Kardinia Park ground and facilities have received extensive renovations, which have raised the venue's capacity to 36,000.
"Geelong is a club like no other and I am proud to continue in this role with the support of the board, management, staff and players," Cook said on Tuesday via a statement.
"This is a special club and everybody is looking ahead to ensure we continue to have success in everything we do.
"There will be challenges and we will work together to meet these head on."
Hawthorn, Carlton, the Western Bulldogs and Collingwood have all been searching recently for new chief executives.
The Hawks pounced on Cook's chief commercial officer Justin Reeves to fill the vacancy left by Tracey Gaudry, while the Dogs hired St Kilda chief operating officer Ameet Bains.
