Jordan Clarkson has scored 28 points and the Cleveland Cavaliers squandered most of a 25-point fourth-quarter lead before holding on to defeat the Washington Wizards 116-113 in the NBA.

Australia's Matthew Dellavedova scored 10 points for the Cavs as the struggling side scored only their 11th win for the season and second in a row.

Washington cut the deficit to three points in the final minute and had a chance to tie Cleveland's Cedi Osman knocked the ball away from Troy Brown, who was attempting a three, and the Cavs held on despite missing nine fourth quarter free throws.

Reserve Jordan McCrae had 15 points and Trevor Ariza added 13 for the Wizards, who have lost two straight.

Elsewhere, Giannis Antetokounmpo was the star for the Milwaukee Bucks, collecting 21 points, 11 assists, eight rebounds and three steals in a 115-105 victory over the Detroit Pistons.

Both teams were missing their starting shooting guards. Milwaukee's Malcolm Brogdon sat out due to a chest injury, while Detroit's Reggie Bullock was sidelined by a left ankle sprain.

Dennis Schroder's 18 points in the fourth quarter led the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder to a 126-117 win over the Orlando Magic.

Schroder had 21 points in the game, and Paul George scored 37 points, including 31 in the first half.

Russell Westbrook had 23 points, 14 assists and 14 rebounds for Oklahoma City, which extended its winning streak to six games.

D'Angelo Russell scored 30 points as the Brooklyn Nets overcame some sluggish moments to extend their home winning streak to nine games with a 122-117 victory over the Chicago Bulls.

Russell scored at least 30 points for the eighth time this season, guiding the Nets to their 13th home win out of their last 14 games.

Meanwhile Rudy Gay hit a 21-foot jumper at the buzzer as the San Antonio Spurs overcame Devin Booker's 38 points to escape with a 126-124 victory over Phoenix, extending the Suns' losing streak to nine games.

LaMarcus Aldridge had 29 points and 14 rebounds for San Antonio, who are 2-0 on a four-game homestand despite playing without injured DeMar DeRozan.

Gay finished with 16 points, five rebounds and five assists.
