CFMEU seeks detail of Liberal, Greens deal

The CFMEU has lodged a freedom of information request seeking details of a deal between the federal government and Greens on Senate voting changes.

The construction union wants access to all correspondence between Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, his department and the Greens on a deal struck to change Senate voting.

The CFMEU is concerned the reforms, which micro parties fear will end their chances of being elected, could encourage the coalition to go to a double-dissolution election and reinstate a building industry watchdog.

"The Greens have sold out the community and its own voters by giving the government the power to do as it pleases," the union's National Secretary Michael O'Connor said on Monday after lodging a freedom of information request.
