CFMEU to rally against Qld job losses

CFMEU will march on Queensland's parliament house in a rally against job losses in regional communities.

A march will be held outside Queensland's parliament to back calls for the state government to stand up for jobs in regional areas.

The CFMEU's mining and energy division has planned the rally to begin at Queens Park on Wednesday morning, before protesters hailing from regional towns such as Blackwater, Moranbah, Dysart and Mackay march on parliament.

"The top issues for Queensland mineworkers and their families travelling to Brisbane for the rally are the increasing casualisation of the mining workforce and compulsory FIFO working arrangements which lock locals out of jobs," CFMEU said in a statement.
